For my theater friends, courtesy of OHNY:

Tourist #1: Ha! Look at her, she's trying to look just like Bernadette Peters.
Tourist #2: That is Bernadette Peters and she heard you. Can we go now?

I had a pretty unproductive weekend. My air conditioner arrived was waiting for me when I got home Friday, which I wasn't expecting. Apparently, the UPS guy was just leaving me a notice when my upstairs neighbor was leaving, and she signed for it for me. Yay! It was also a lot heavier than I expected; way too much for me to carry, much less up the stairs. But I'm a crafty one, I am. I rolled it up the stairs, end over end. Kind of like a slinky, only backwards. And a lot heavier. It had just the right distribution of weight. And then I slid it across the floor to my apartment. Of course, it hasn't been installed yet, either, because it's too heavy for me to lift into the window and I obviously don't want to drop it. Either on me or on some poor, unsuspecting passer-by on the street.

Other than that, nothing much of note. I rented some more movies on Sunday and ordered pizza. I watched Match Point last night, which I've been wanting to see for a while, but it was always out at the video store. It wasn't quite what I expected, but I like that in a movie. Since I now know that my parents read this... (Hi!!!) ...I'll just leave a quick note that you guys might enjoy it. Definitely not a Sunday night with Grandma movie, but still worth renting.

I also finished reading Middlesex, a birthday present from Ellie, which was very good. So I started the next book on my Things A Good English Major Should Have Read Already list, Vanity Fair. I think this one's going to be a little slower going, but I will persevere. I'm glad I've seen the movie, though.

Well. That's about it for my weekend. On to my next time-killing endeavor.

My ears perked up when I heard it was a Woody Allen movie, but I was disappointed in "Match Point." It's basically "Crimes and Misdemeanors" (which is an outstanding movie) repackaged with British actors. Oh well.
