6/30/2006 The best work-days are the days your office closes at 1 for a long, holiday weekend. I spent the morning doing nothing, as usual, and left at 12:30 to go home and change and charge my phone which was about to die. Then I went back into the city to meet Ellie for lunch; we got hot dogs from Gray's Papaya, which I'd never had before. Not bad. We wandered a bit. I love her neighborhood on the Upper West Side. If I had the money, I'd move there in a heartbeat. Sadly, I don't... Then we got some ice cream at Tasti D-Lite, which I had also never had. Then we split up briefly while she did something work-related, and I browsed some frames at LensCrafters ($250 for Chanel, anyone?) and looked through the racks at Ann Taylor. And I stopped in this store called BOC on Columbus which had some really great dresses... but they all ran in the $200-400 range. So looking only. And touching. But no buying. Next up, Ellie stopped into a salon for a trim while I went down the block for a manicure and pedicure, and then we met up again to go to her apartment. We killed a little more time before heading on to the AMC in Times Square to meet her friend Kara and see The Devil Wears Prada. It was awesome. And then on home to eat something. Tomorrow brings laundry, cleaning, and grocery shopping. If I'm actually productive, which is questionable. And Sunday brings Brannon! posted 11:08 PM / post
