12/25/2004
Merry Christmas! I hope everyone had a good day. We did our usual Christmas morning thing, and then I went back to bed and slept all day, and then we had our dinner. Much fun. ^_^
My poor baby is defective. :( After a couple visits to the vet (and over $400) I found out she has a birth defect where her hip sockets are too shallow to hold her leg bones in place. So she probably missed a jump recently, fell back on her hind legs, and knocked something out. And she has arthritis in her knees. So... I have to give her arthritis medicine with her food everyday; it's a powder that you sprinkle over the food, but now she's not eating her food very much. So I don't know what I'm going to do. I'll have to call the vet back on Monday.
Now just for fun, I'm going to do this that I stole from Ellie.
- What did you do in 2004 that you'd never done before?
I flew 3000 miles by myself and visited London and Scotland with my best friend.

I never make any.
- Did anyone close to you give birth?
My friend Jessie. :)
- Did anyone close to you die?
No.
- What countries did you visit?
Scotland, England, and technically Germany. I think 12 hours in the airport should count.

A sense of direction for my post-college life.
- What date from 2004 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
May 19, I suppose. My 21st birthday celebrated in St. Andrews, Scotland.
- What was your biggest achievement of the year?
Surviving this semester intact. It was the best Fall I've had in a long time, despite the loads of work.
- What was your biggest failure?
Drifting from Robin. But we're working on that.
- Did you suffer illness or injury?
Not that I remember. Aside from the usual cold.
- What was the best thing you bought?
My plane tickets.

All of my friends.
- Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
I'd rather not go into it.

A very great deal went to Scotland and the vet.
- What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Again, Scotland. And as strange as this sounds, moving back into the dorm.
- What song will always remind you of 2004?
Every song from Cotton Patch Gospel. ;)
- Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier.
ii. thinner or fatter? I think a little thinner.
iii. richer or poorer? Richer.
- What do you wish you'd done more of?
Socializing.
- What do you wish you'd done less of?
Sitting alone in my apartment.
- How will you be spending Christmas?
At home, as always.
- Did you fall in love in 2004?
No.
- How many one-night stands?
None.
- What was your favorite TV program?
Dead Like Me.
- Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
I don't hate anyone.

For the sake of answering, The DaVinci Code. But I really can't remember what all I read.

Metisse.
- What did you want and get?
I really don't keep track.
- What was your favorite film of this year?
Heh... Mean Girls. "Stab Caesar!" And Love, Actually.

For my 21st birthday, Ellie took me to a pub in St. Andrews with her friends.
- What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Having a relationship.
- How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2004?
I don't know.
- What kept you sane?
My friends, always. This past semester, Amanda.
- Which celebrity/public figure did you fancy the most?
Jude Law.
- What political issue stirred you the most?
Women's rights.
- Who did you miss?
During my 12 hour layover in Germany... EVERYBODY. More recently, Ellie. And Robin.
- Who was the best new person you met?
Just one?! Please. Stupid boys #1 and #2, Jason, and the ever-lovely Kristin. ^_^
- Tell us a valuable life lesson you learned in 2004:
Don't take other people too seriously.
- Quote a song lyric that sums up your year:
The trick is to keep breathing. (Garbage)
